Through a generous endowment established by Julian and Kathryn Wiener, summer research fellowships will be available for students pursuing
careers in the medical profession. Qualified students will receive exceptional training and
individual mentoring by working on specific research projects with Millsaps faculty.
Research projects must be relevant and/or related to the medical profession. Students who
become Wiener Fellows will commit eight (8) full weeks of full-time summer research and will
be expected to participate in all aspects of their research project. This experience is designed
to provide students with analytical, methodological, quantitative and technical skills that they
would not receive in the typical classroom setting, but that will enhance their probability of
success in earning admittance into medical school.
Students who exhibit promise and motivation to secure a career in the medical profession will be eligible for the Wiener summer fellowship provided the criteria in the student selection process are met.
