Getting a Transcript

Records Office

Millsaps College respectfully follows the guidelines of the Family Educational and Privacy Act of 1974. This provision of the law, often known as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment, was passed to protect the rights of the individual student. This law requires that all transcript requests be in writing, signed and dated by the person to whom the academic record belongs.

To guarantee that student rights are protected, the following are required to get a transcript:

  • Written request from THE STUDENT (you may download a PDF version of our Transcript Request Form) which includes:
    • FULL NAME under which attended Millsaps College
    • Social Security Number
    • Date of Birth
    • Dates of attendance at Millsaps College
    • SIGNATURE
    • Complete address(es) where transcript(s) are to be sent
    • Current address and phone number, in case we need to reach you.
  • If you are currently enrolled, please note if current semester grades or degree completion should be included on your transcript prior to release.
  • A picture identification should be presented if you plan to pick up a previously requested transcript in the office.
  • NOTE: ALL accounts with the college must be clear to receive a transcript.
  • COST: $10 per copy for the first 2 copies, additional copies ordered on the same day are $2.00 per copy after the first two copies.

Alumni of Wood College may use this PDF form to request a transcript:

Ways to get a transcript:

Transcripts are released only from a written request by THE STUDENT. Response time is normally 24-36 working hours. Peak times such as registration, early registration or graduation complicate our normal work flow, so please plan ahead when possible.

  • Mail your request to our office including the information above OR
  • Walk-in and complete form or present written request including the information above OR
  • Emergency only--fax your request to us including the information above OR
  • Phone requests and Internet requests are NOT accepted. At this time we can not authenticate the sender. Issues of fraud have been dealt with in the past, so we are strictly enforcing the request for a signature of the student.

Can you fax my transcript?

We will fax your transcript to another institution of higher learning if you have an immediate deadline to meet. This service will be followed by a hard copy of the same document. Cost: additional $5 per copy. A fax request is considered as incoming mail and given the same priority.
