The
Art Club meets regularly to discuss current issues in art and to plan
for upcoming club trips and events. In past years, for example, the club
operated an arts and crafts booth at the local Belhaven Market which serves
the Jackson community. The money that was raised by selling artworks at
this fundraiser helped to offset the costs of the club's fieldtrip to
New Orleans. The club has also hosted a craft booth at the annual SBA
Carnival which supports community children's groups and has done art-related
events in conjunction with the Midtown Project. Students in the club also
explore the gallery scene in Jackson and the larger region.
All
Millsaps students are welcome to attend any and all Art Club meetings.
