Fellowship in Rhetorical Studies and Writing Center Administration

Employment begins: Mid-July 2009.

Deadline for applications: Review of applications will begin on May 29, 2009, and will continue until the position is filled.

The Position: This position is a Fellowship in Rhetorical Studies and Writing Center Administration for individuals who have completed their Ph.D.s in the last five years. This is a ten month teaching and administrative fellowship, renewable for up to three years.

The Fellow will be expected to engage actively in the intellectual life of the college and will have opportunities to participate in teaching colloquia and writing workshops and to be part of a collegial program.

The Fellow will also have primary responsibility for the administrative and scholastic roles of the Millsaps Writing Center. Specialization should be in the area(s) of Rhetoric, Composition, or Communications.

The annual teaching load will include one departmental Rhetoric/Communications course and three undergraduate tutor development courses.

We offer a competitive salary including health and other benefits, a travel and research stipend of $2,000, an allowance for moving expenses, and a private office with computer in the Writing Program.
