Dr.
Marrs is Professor of English and Welty Foundation Scholar-in-Residence
at Millsaps College. Since taking her Ph.D. at the University of
Oklahoma, she has focused her career upon southern literature and
the work of Eudora Welty. A recipient of the 1998 Phoenix Award
for Distinguished Achievement in Eudora Welty Scholarship, Dr. Marrs
is a co-editor of Eudora Welty and Politics: Did the Writer Crusade?
and is the author of three books - The Welty Collection,
One Writer's Imagination: The Fiction of Eudora Welty, and,
most recently, Eudora Welty, A Biography.
