Millsaps College's Great Topics Seminar in the Humanities and Sciences for the Spring Semester 2008 will begin January 18 - 19, with a weekend retreat on campus.

Thereafter, weekly meetings will be held on Tuesday afternoons the Engel Room of the Millsaps-Wilson Library on the Millsaps College campus, January 22 - April 29, 2008, skipping the week of spring break, March 18, 2008. Each session will begin at 1:30 p.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m..  Coffee will be served at 1:00 p.m. before each class begins.

Cost

Great Topics Seminars: Graduate Studies in the Humanities and Sciences were begun as the Leadership Seminars in the Humanities in 1988 through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Their continuation is made possible in part by the generous support of Millsaps College and by the support of former seminar participants.

The fee for participating in this seminar is $800. This course is an academic offering of the College and carries four hours of graduate credit. As such, there will be required reading and writing assignments during the semester. There is also the option of taking the course as a noncredit option; readings and weekly informal reflection paper assignments will be the same, but a major research paper will not be required for those selecting the noncredit option. For further information, contact Nola Gibson by calling 601-974-1132 or emailing her at gibsonk@millsaps.edu.

The application deadline is December 15, 2007. Enrollment in the Seminar is limited.
