Else School Grad Wins Neely Medal
Laura Litton Gillenwater (BBA 2010, MAcc 2011) is the 2012 Fred T. Neely Gold Medal award winner. This award is given the Mississippi Society for Certified Public Accountants for the highest score on the CPA exam during the award year. Laura was a Founder's Day Medal winner as an undergraduate accounting major before completing Master of Accountancy degree at Millsaps.
"We are extremely proud of Laura," said Dr. Kimberly Burke, Else School of Management dean. "She is one of the most poised and personable students I have ever taught. I'm not at all surprised she won the Neely Medal." Laura works for Horne LLP.
CEO Magazine Has Something to Say About the Else School!
The Millsaps MBA and Executive MBA programs were featured in CEO Magazine's April issue. A four-page story highlighted the distinctive attributes of the programs. Millsaps was the only Mississippi school listed on the magazine's Global MBA Super Table, and the MBA was listed as a North American top tier school.

Recent Else Graduate named one of the Jackson Free Press's "Guys We Love"

Congratulations to James Russell Morrison, MBA 2013! Russell was recently selected as one of the "Guys We Love" by the Jackson Free Press. The Jackson Free Press annually spotlights a few men who "make Jackson a little cleaner, brighter, compassionate, smarter, or a little more delicious."
Russell, the Else School's 2013 recipient of the Charles H. Sewell Outstanding MBA Student Award, was recognized for the work of his company, S.O. TEREC. The company produces t-shirts, which in turn help Mississippians in need. You can read the story here.
Russell was also very active with ELSEWorks, the Else School's entrepreneurial initiative.
Fall Forum - September 25, 2013
The Millsaps College Else School of Management will host the State of Mississippi's Economic Outlook Forum on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the Leggett Center on the Millsaps Campus at 8:30 a.m. This is an annual event where premier economists present the national and state economic outlook for the coming year. This year Greg Daco will present the national forecast. Daco is a Senior Principal Economist in the U.S. Macroeconomics Group. His primary responsibility is to track and forecast the international trade and government sectors using IHS Global Insight's U.S. Macroeconomic Model. His expertise in the U.S. economy includes government policy, international trade, as well as monetary policy.
Dr. Darrin Webb will present the forecast for Mississippi. Dr. Darrin Webb became the State Economist and Director of the University Research Center in July 2010. The State Economist serves as the chief economist for the State of Mississippi. Through oversight of the University Research Center staff, he is responsible for economic forecasting and socio-economic policy analysis.
