The Family Business Institute was created to serve family-owned businesses.
The Family Business Institute is designed for owners and other management of family-owned businesses. Four seminars will be conducted each year, and formal presentations will be made on critical subjects, followed by discussion and exchange of ideas between attendees. Participants can choose to attend one or more of the seminars that will be offered annually.
“The idea is to have a practical seminar built upon exchange of ideas, rather than a totally academic lecture approach,” said Howard McMillan, dean of the Else School of Management. Seminars will feature expert speakers who will discuss an array of topics pertinent to family business owners, including succession, non-family participation, buy-sell agreements, and family conflicts. Participants will then break into small-group sessions for discussion and idea exchange.
:: NOTE ::
The seminar scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2008 has been canceled; email the Family Business Institute at fambus@millsaps.edu or call 601-974-1250 for more information.
