Young people today want to make a
difference in the world. They care deeply about other people and
want to contribute their skills and talents to the creation of a
better tomorrow for all. The Millsaps Faith & Work Initiative
is founded on the conviction that meaningful lives are those that
reach beyond the limits of the individual to engage, enrich, and
serve others. Our programs help students connect the convictions
of their hearts with their personal and professional goals.
Professing
the Professions
Is it really possible to be successful and to serve the
common good with one's work? The "Professing the Professions"
series features successful professionals reflecting
on issues of meaning, ethics, service, and faith in relation to
their professional identities and practices, offering students a
unique window onto prospective career paths in relation to ultimate
questions of meaning and service.
C.A.L.L.S.
(Considering a Life of Leadership and Service)
For students interested in exploring a call to ordained
or lay ministry in their faith community, the C.A.L.L.S. program
offers support, encouragement, and opportunities for spiritual growth
and discernment.
Immersed
in Meaning
Diving deep into another world of meaning can be a transformative
experience. The Millasps Faith & Work Initiative invites students
to participate in Immersion Experiences that expose them to new
possibilities for learning and living and challenge them to use
their gifts and talents to respond to the world's needs. From the
Mississippi Delta to the Big Apple, these meaning-based road trips
engage students in life-changing reflection and action in relation
to many of the defining social problems of our time.
