Campaign Highlights

The Millsaps Annual Fund $12,000,000
The Millsaps Annual Fund provides yearly financial resources that directly affect the quality of teaching and student life at Millsaps College. Unrestricted annual gifts support all areas of the College and provide the flexibility to respond to student and faculty needs and opportunities throughout the year. Restricted annual gifts provide ongoing enhancements to special needs or programs designated by the donor, such as athletics, academic departments, or the library. Both restricted and unrestricted gifts have an immediate impact on the College community and are a vital component in assuring excellence in the classroom and beyond. In addition to gifts for the endowment or capital initiatives of the campaign, all donors are encouraged to support the Millsaps Annual Fund. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $12 million in annual fund gifts during the campaign.

Estate and Planned Gift Expectancies $60,000,000
One of the most rewarding gifts alumni and friends can make to Millsaps College is a planned gift or bequest. The thoughtful inclusion of Millsaps in the donor’s will or the arrangement of another type of deferred gift—such as an annuity, trust, or life insurance plan—helps ensure the long-term financial integrity of the College. Specific tax laws make planned giving advantageous both for Millsaps College and for the donor. More importantly, donors will experience the personal satisfaction of knowing they are not only helping to enhance the legacy of Millsaps College, but also establishing their own legacy at Millsaps for generations to come.

Campaign Total $160,000,000

“A legacy is what you were given and what you pass on. Some of my most rewarding days were those when former recipients of financial aid called me to say, ‘I want to pay back some of what I was given.’ An investment in scholarships at Millsaps isn’t just an investment in a single student, but in the larger community and in the world.”

—Jack Woodward, freshman scholarship recipient, 1947; Class of 1951; Millsaps staff 1961–1999, including service as Dean of Student Aid Financial Planning
