Millsaps College to Host Internationally Renowned Pianist

The Millsaps College Department of Performing Arts is pleased to announce a performance by guest artist Soyeon Lee on Sun., Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. in the Ford Academic Complex Recital Hall on the Millsaps campus.

Born in Korea, Lee began studying piano at the age of 5. She moved to the United States at age 9 and attended the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, from which she graduated with high honors in music. Having continued her studies at The Juilliard School and receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Lee has won many national competitions, including the Wideman Piano Competition, the Rachmaninoff Concerto Competition and two consecutive Gina Bachauer Scholarship Competitions.

In 2004, Lee made her Lincoln Center recital debut, and has recently performed at the Montreal Chamber Music Festival and in Seoul with her pop-star sister Soeun Lee.
