The 40th anniversary season of the Millsaps College Arts & Lecture Series kicks off Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Cirque Odyssey troupe in the Christian Center Auditorium on the Millsaps campus. Early bird specials are still available for season tickets by calling Luran Buchanan at 601-974-1043. Individual tickets are $15 general admission and $5 for students with ID. Group rates are available, and season tickets may also be purchased at the door.
Cirque Odyssey’s performances consist of several acts, each featuring different dazzling feats—like hand-to-hand balancing, bungee, tumbling, ballet, the German wheel, contortionism and clowns—which culminate in a finale that incorporates all the acts into one dazzling climax of sight and sound. Testing the limits of the human body and challenging what the mind believes is possible, Cirque Odyssey is an amazing cornucopia of daring skill, grace, strength and agility.
