The 77-voice Millsaps Singers choir performs traditional Japanese folk music in conjunction with an exhibition of Japanese sword arts by Sword Masters from Fukuoka, Japan. A scholar and musician from Tulane University, Dr. Guy Beck has examined Hindu theology relative to sacred sound, and studied Indic influences on world religious chant and music. An accomplished pianist and performer of Hindustani vocal classical music, he presents this lecture/demonstration as part of the Indian Culture and Lecture Series.
