& Sororities

Millsaps
College has four North-American Interfraternity Conference
(NIC) fraternities, one Fraternity Leadership Association,
four National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities and
three National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) fraternities
and sororities. The sororities are Alpha Kappa Alpha, Chi
Omega, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Delta, Phi Mu, and Delta
Delta Delta. The fraternities are Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa
Alpha, Kappa Sigma, Lambda Chi Alpha, Pi Kappa Alpha, and
Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

regarding the Millsaps Greek Community, sororities, or
fraternities may be directed to the Office of Student
Life 974-1200.
Scholastic
Requirements
- To
be eligible for initiation, a student must have earned
in his most recent semester credit for three
courses,
must
not have fallen below D in more than one subject
and must have earned a 2.0 grade point average for the
semester. Organizations that are shortening their new
member/associate
period and
wish to initiate early should contact the Office
of Student
Life.
- A
student who drops a course after the end of the half
semester shall receive an “F” for
sorority or fraternity purposes.
- The
two terms of summer school combined shall count as
one semester for sorority
or fraternity purposes.
Specific
Eligibility Requirements for Alpha Kappa Alpha
A student must have completed one semester
of college (at least three courses),
must have maintained
a 2.0
overall
grade point average and submit a letter
to the sorority in which a desire to join is stated.
Specific
Eligibility Requirements for Alpha Phi Alpha
Each semester Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will conduct
a “smoker” to
acquaint interested men with the membership intake process.
A letter of intent to join must be submitted before a “bid” can
be offered to selected men.
Specific
Eligibility Requirements for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc.
A student must have completed 24 semester hours and
maintained a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
Details
of membership requirements
will be
given at an Information Seminar.
Only bona fide regular students with a 2.30 G.P.A.
(enrolled in at least three courses) may be pledged.
