Our students are always astounded by the variety of on-campus activities and events that fill their lives outside of class. Lectures by world figures such as Jane Goodall, conferences featuring authors like Ann Patchett, concerts and plays (spectating or performing), indie film series presented by the film directors, sorority and fraternity events, athletics, intramurals, working out in the fitness center, and over 70 clubs and organizations. It’s just amazing a 100-acre campus can fit it all in.

The cityscape of downtown Jackson has become a popular destination. Home to four
museums, ten historic sites and three parks, downtown Jackson is Mississippi’s center for
culture and entertainment. The funky Fondren Arts District, less than five minutes from campus, features art galleries,
local boutiques, a bakery, two coffee shops, and some of the best restaurants in town. Jubilee!JAM, Mal’s St. Paddy’s Parade, Celtic Fest, Crossroads Film Festival and the International Ballet Competition are just a few of the cultural, entertainment, and performing
arts options that abound in and around Jackson.

Although they are far from isolated from the life of the city, 80 percent of our students live on campus, and they have created more than 80 clubs and organizations—including 12 national sororities and fraternities and six groups that are solely dedicated to public and community service. From parties to politics, Frisbee to French, we’ve got something for everyone, on and off campus.
While the academic experience at Millsaps is our reason for being, our student life activities are how Millsaps develops well-rounded graduates who appreciate all that life has to offer. On campus, you'll want to check out our physical activities center, career center, plaza and college center. These distinctive additions to our campus have dramatically increased the opportunities for student, faculty, and staff interaction. Whatever your extracurricular interest, you can pursue it at Millsaps.
