Mississippi Young Women's Leadership Summit

The goal of the Mississippi Young Women's Leadership Summit (MYWLS) is to empower 9th-10th grade Mississippi young women to become involved in public service by providing examples of Mississippi women that are involved in enhancing the common good of the state, and a forum for these young women to discuss their visions for the future.

This next day-long  MYWLS conference will be held in January 2012 (dates TBA) at Millsaps College, with interactive speakers from the local and state community, panel discussions and hands-on activities for each topic.

The focus of the summit is divided into 5 areas:

• Community Service
• Politics and Public Service
• Women's Health, Sports Leadership and Self-esteem
• Academics and Continuing Education
• Mentoring (participants paired with college women leaders)

PLEASE NOTE:

Participants must arrange their own transportation to and from the conference and all other associated events, unless otherwise instructed by their school or the conference. Please contact the Conference Directors, Stevie Cantrell or Sara Del Castillo, for further help.
