Minor Requirements

Theatre Studies

 

NOTE: Theatre major in abeyance effective 2011.

Students may elect a minor in theatre with 20 semester hours in at least five courses, distributed as follows:

1) Two courses (8 semester hours) in theatre (THEA) not including credit for participating in productions. One of these courses must be a 1000- or 2000- level course in acting or stage craft.

2) Twelve additional semester hours selected from the following list:

  • Any course(s) in theatre (THEA) including up to eight credit hours earned for participating in productions
  • EDUC 3260 Practicum in Theatre Education
  • ENGL 3310 Shakespeare and the Play of the Genre
  • ENGL 3330 Shakespeare and the Play of Culture
  • ENGL 3340 Special Studies in Shakespeare
  • Any course(s) devoted to dramatic literature such as "Early Modern Spanish Drama," "Eighteenth Century Comedies," or "Twentieth Century Drama."
