Safety on Campus
Millsaps College believes that a multi-faceted approach to safety is best. In addition to educating students, faculty and staff about safety, and asking them to play active roles in their day-to-day safety, the Department of Campus Safety and Security also includes special services, physical and technological tools, such as:
- Fully enclosed perimeter security fencing
- 24/7 staffed Dispatch Center
- After hours gates, staffed and controlled 7 days a week
- CCTV, live monitored and taped
- Outdoor emergency warning system
- In-building alert bell system
- Computer controlled card access system (with magnetic locks and door prop monitors)
- Emergency call boxes
- Computer monitored burglar, duress, and fire systems
- Security lighting
- Safety Escort Program
