I never thought I’d be a sociologist. I started out with a major in physical therapy and while taking electives, stumbled upon an introduction to sociology course and knew in that moment “this is it!” I was intrigued by understandings and misconceptions of social and cultural behavior. I am incredibly curious and always see the importance of asking questions. I believe sociology is in everything. I believe strongly in social justice. I believe in working with communities. I believe in listening intently to others and recognizing the importance in their voices. Most importantly, I believe in sharing all of this with my students.
