Taylor McKay Hathorn is currently the Registrar at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to beginning this role, Taylor was the Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Mississippi College, where she was awarded the Student Success Advocate of the Year award in 2023. Taylor is a two-time alumna of Mississippi College’s English program. As a graduate student, Taylor won the graduate research symposium for her work on Wesleyan theology in LM Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. Taylor has also written extensively for the Jackson Free Press, the Clinton Courier, and the Mississippi Free Press. At the Mississippi Free Press, Taylor has edited the work of young writers through the publication’s Youth Media Project and was part of the “Trusted Elections” team that brought home an SPJ Diamond Award for its work on the 2020 election. When Taylor is not writing or record-keeping, she is an adjunct English instructor. She also sits on the board of both Broadmeadow United Methodist Church, the first affirming UMC congregation in the state, and the Fondren North Neighborhood Association, the most diverse neighborhood in the state. She enjoys reading, cooking, going for walks, and testing her heart health by supporting the sports teams at LSU, where she received an MA in Higher Education Administration.
