Education has profoundly transformed my life and opened many doors I never dreamed imaginable. Science is an integral part of my approach to life and has greatly influenced my worldview. The unique perspective science provides has led me to more fully enjoy life and has compelled me to share that joy and discovery with my students. I began my journey at the University of Florida, with stops at Texas Tech University, Syntex Pharmaceuticals and finally Millsaps College. Here I have found a home where I have had the opportunity to work with many talented faculty and students. With the help of my colleagues, I led the effort to build the W.M. Keck Center for Instrumental and Biochemical Comparative Archaeology. As director of the lab, I am able to help students engage in many different kinds of undergraduate research projects as well as guide them to develop unique skill sets that will aid them later in life. It is an immense feeling of accomplishment to work in an atmosphere that is truly cooperative and interdisciplinary, where every student contributes and feels engaged in our various research projects. When not at work, I enjoy watching sports, boating and riding my Harley.
