Bob Woodward, long-time Washington Post journalist and author of “Rage,” will be the featured guest in an online webinar hosted by Millsaps College and the Mississippi Center for Investigative Reporting (MCIR). The 30-minute webinar, which will be hosted on Zoom, will take place on Thursday, October 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Woodward will be interviewed by Brian Ross, former ABC chief investigative news correspondent. Registration is required for the webinar.
Additional co-sponsors of the webinar include the Mississippi Book Festival, Lemuria Books in Jackson, Square Books in Oxford and Reed’s Gum Tree Bookstore in Tupelo.
MCIR was founded by Jerry Mitchell in 2018 as a nonprofit news organization that seeks to “expose corruption, malfeasance and injustices, investigate cold cases, empower citizens and raise up the next generation of investigative reporters.” Mitchell is well-known as an investigative reporter, Pulitzer Prize finalist and winner of a MacArthur Foundation Genius Award.
As part of their agreement with Millsaps, MCIR provides teaching fellows for a journalism course in the college’s communications studies program. The partnership is another means by which the college stresses experiential learning and offers students opportunities for real-world research and work beyond the classroom.
