Millsaps College has once again been recognized as a national leader in supporting transfer student success, earning a place on the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year. The honor recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate exceptional success in helping community college transfer students earn bachelor’s degrees.
This year, Phi Theta Kappa named 275 four-year colleges and universities to the Transfer Honor Roll. The recognition is based on a comprehensive evaluation of how institutions support transfer students from admission through graduation, including transfer student outcomes, credit mobility, financial support, recruitment and admissions practices, and campus engagement.
Aaron Pelch, vice president for enrollment and admissions at Millsaps, said the recognition reflects the college’s commitment to helping transfer students successfully transition and achieve their academic goals.
“Transfer students bring tremendous talent, experience and determination to our campus community,” said Pelch. “We work hard to ensure they feel supported from day one, whether that’s helping them maximize their transfer credits, connecting them with opportunities inside and outside the classroom or building relationships that help them thrive.”

According to PTK, institutions recognized on the 2026 Transfer Honor Roll demonstrated outstanding outcomes across multiple measures of transfer success. Honor Roll colleges reported an average bachelor’s degree completion rate of 77% for transfer students, with an average of 88% of transferred credits applied toward degree programs and 76% of transfer students receiving merit-based financial aid.
PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner said the honor highlights institutions that have made transfer student success a strategic priority.
“This recognition is about much more than transfer agreements,” Tincher-Ladner said. “Successful transfer happens when institutions intentionally design policies, practices and campus cultures that help students thrive after they arrive. These colleges have demonstrated that transfer student success is not accidental. It is a strategic priority.”
The Transfer Honor Roll has become one of the nation’s most comprehensive recognitions of transfer excellence. More than 1,100 colleges and universities completed PTK’s institutional profile this year, providing data used to evaluate transfer student success and support services.
