Experience a week of hands-on medical training and build connections with local healthcare leaders in our immersive summer camp.

The Millsaps Medical Readiness Initiative offers a perfect opportunity to take the first steps toward a successful future in medicine. This immersive experience is designed for 9th, 10th and 11th graders interested in medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, public health and therapy-related fields.

What You’ll Experience

  • Hands-on Medical Skills: Try your hand at suturing, blood typing, glucose testing, blood pressure assessments and other essentials.
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with the real-life imaging of the Anatomage table to explore all the body’s anatomical systems.
  • Lesser-Known Medical Techniques: Try tooth carving, implant design and compounding for insight into specialized fields.
  • Expert Workshops: Learn about anatomy, infectious diseases and health challenges from professionals.
  • The Role of Art in Healthcare: Learn how art therapy reduces stress and improves well-being.
  • Hands-On Understanding: Experience a poverty simulation, an empathy lunch and design a resource center for low-income families.
  • College & Career Prep: Get insider tips on academic pathways, resume building and interview strategies.

By the end of camp, you’ll be confident, prepared and inspired to pursue a healthcare career.

  • June 3-6, 2025 | 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (early drop-off upon request starting at 7:30 a.m.)
  • Location: Millsaps College
  • Calling all rising 9th, 10th, and 11th graders
  • Cost: $300 (includes lunches, snacks, all supplies and a camp t-shirt)
  • Two Scholarships available
