Millsaps College Offers Smooth Transition Plan for BSC Students.
Millsaps will honor our four-year graduation guarantee if you were on track to graduate on time at BSC. We will include semesters you already completed at BSC and offer two options below based on your number of earned credit hours.
For BSC students with 15 or more earned units (60 or more semester credit hours)
Millsaps will assist you in the completion of your BSC graduation requirements, utilizing comparable Millsaps courses and experiences.
- Full general education credit.
Millsaps will consider BSC’s Explorations general education curriculum as satisfying Millsaps’ Compass general education curriculum. Students who have yet to complete their Explorations curriculum will be able to complete similar coursework at Millsaps. No additional coursework beyond what was expected at BSC to complete the Explorations curriculum will be required. - Major credit.
For degree programs that Millsaps offers, we will work with students to complete their major requirements, as similar as possible to BSC’s requirements at the time of closing. Remaining courses in the BSC major will be fulfilled with comparable courses in the existing Millsaps curriculum. No additional coursework beyond what was expected at BSC to complete their major will be required. - Waiver of Millsaps’ separate degree requirements.
Millsaps has general education, degree and major course requirements. The degree requirements for the BA and BS will be waived for BSC students. - Waiver of comprehensive exams.
Millsaps students must complete a comprehensive exam in their major to graduate. This will be waived for BSC students. - Waiver of writing portfolio and writing reflection.
Millsaps students must complete these in order to graduate. These will be waived for BSC students.
For BSC students with 14 or fewer earned units (59 or fewer semester credit hours)
Millsaps will help you utilize your BSC courses to facilitate completion of Millsaps’ graduation requirements.
- General education credit.
Millsaps will transfer BSC’s Explorations general education credit into Millsaps’ Compass general education curriculum. Students who have yet to complete their Explorations curriculum will be able to complete the Compass Curriculum as their general education requirement. - Major credit.
Millsaps will transfer BSC’s major coursework and will work with students to complete their Millsaps’ major requirements. - Waiver of writing portfolio.
Millsaps students must complete a writing proficiency portfolio to graduate. This will be waived for BSC students.

Financial Impact for BSC Students
Millsaps is committed to the completion of your degree with no additional costs beyond what finishing at BSC would have cost. To that end, your net tuition (exclusive of federal aid, which is determined by the US Department of Education) at Millsaps will be no more than it was at BSC, within the parameters of Millsaps’ financial aid policy, which requires living on campus to receive maximum financial aid.
