The City of Jackson is still impacted by low and no water pressure. Although the water pressure is increasing on campus, it is not yet high enough for standard operation. The college’s emergency management team sincerely appreciates your patience as the city works to restore water throughout Jackson.

As pressure slowly returns throughout campus, please do not attempt to flush toilets or utilize other water fixtures until they can be inspected. In addition, if you should notice water accumulating, please call Campus Safety (601-974-1234) so the valves to fixtures can be turned off until they can be inspected and/or repaired.

Shower trailers are now located in the parking lot of the Academic Complex. To enhance the security of the area, the gate from Park Avenue will be closed and locked until further notice.

Shower hours include:
• 7:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m.
• 11:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.
• 5:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m.

The shower trailers are gender-specific and ADA-compliant. They are available to residential students and staff on a first-come, first-served basis and will be monitored during open hours and locked at all other times. Bottled water and hand sanitizer will be located inside the shower trailers; please do not drink any water with the exception of the bottled water.

In addition, port-a-potties are in the process of being delivered throughout campus, including in the Gertrude C. Ford Academic Complex parking lot, near the Windgate Visual Arts Center, near the Maurice H. Hall Activities Center and near the residence halls. Specific locations will be announced when available.
