In my teaching, I advocate for ethical and empathetic management while stressing that when practiced with integrity, empathy, and foresight, management has the power to transform companies, uplift communities, and drive forward progress. I aim to inspire students that management is a calling, not just a career, and arm them with the knowledge, skills, and ethical compass to lead with distinction.
As an Assistant Professor of Management at the Millsaps College Else School of Management, I am an engaging academic who draws upon more than 25 years of experience leading and developing award-winning teams and successful business strategies. Before entering academia,I was a hospitality industry veteran who held operational leadership roles in Iowa, New York, Missouri and Mississippi. After a successful business career, I began to think about how my experiences and knowledge could benefit others. There has always been a deep part of my identity and motivation grounded in teaching and helping others. So, becoming a professor at the Else School of Management at Millsaps College. It was a natural fit and the decision to become a part of the faculty was an aspirational dream come true. My current role – Visiting Instructor at Millsaps and business and leadership consultant – has allowed me the opportunity to guide today’s and tomorrow’s business leaders in growing themselves, their teams, and their businesses.
