Assistant Professor of Psychology (tenure-track)

The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Millsaps College invites applicants for a full-time, Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2025. We seek innovative, resourceful, dedicated candidates who are eager to teach the increasingly diverse student body at Millsaps; ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellent and engaging undergraduate teaching in small classroom settings. The successful candidate will teach six (6) courses per academic year and should be qualified to teach a range of topics in psychology including Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, Tests & Measurement, Diversity, Decision Making, Industrial/Organization Psychology, and specialty courses in their area.

 

Research interests within the areas of social or industrial/organization psychology are open, and competitive candidates will demonstrate an active research program suitable for a liberal arts environment and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. (ABD considered) in social or industrial/organization psychology or a related field
  • Record of, or potential for, scholarly productivity
  • Capability in working with and mentoring undergraduate students in psychological research
  • Commitment to inclusive pedagogy, diversity, and equity
