Accounting is known as the language of business. Individuals and businesses rely upon accountants to collect and classify information and determine financial stability. The Else School of Management offers both a BBA and M.Acc. in accounting. Our learning environments borrow from the real world, so you can practice making good decisions. ACCT 2000 Principles of Financial Accounting
Explore the basic concepts, systems and terminology of accounting data in modern accounting. The course emphasizes understanding of general-purpose financial statements.
ACCT 4080 Advanced Managerial Accounting
Focus on how to use accounting information for internal decision making. Advanced study of managerial and cost topics related to variable and fixed costs, cost-volume-profit analysis and responsible accounting.

Early Start Gives You a Jump Start

Undergraduate BBA students can qualify to start taking graduate courses toward your M.Acc. during the second semester of your senior year.

VITA Program Gives Hands-on Learning

The VITA program allows accounting students to prepare tax returns for low-income people who do not have ready access to tax help.

Paid, Class Credit Internships

Our internship program allows students to get class credit while performing a paid internship with an accounting firm, state audit agency or corporate entity.

You’ll find numerous opportunities for real-world experience thanks to internships, and graduates secure jobs with leading accounting firms and other businesses. One hands-on experience would be the VITA program, which allows accounting students to prepare tax returns for low-income people who do not have ready access to tax help. Another hands-on experience would be the internship program, which allows a student to get class credit while performing a paid internship with an accounting firm, state audit agency or corporate entity. Study-abroad programs get students out of the classroom and into real-world environments to investigate business differences across cultures. Pathways

Our curriculum emphasizes problem solving and critical thinking skills essential to any career (and therefore any Pathway), as well as scientific writing and experimentation skills that may be especially critical to students interested in any of our six Pathways tracks.
