Are you a prospective student interested in music or theatre? Mark your calendar now for March 10, 2023 and attend Performing Arts Scholars Day at Millsaps College!
Hosted by the Millsaps Departments of Music and Theatre, Performing Arts Scholars Day offers a chance to secure additional scholarships to support your studies (and you don’t have to major in music). Awards are based on auditions and/or interviews. Incoming first-year students are eligible for the Music Ensemble Scholarship, Music Artistic Merit Scholarship, Theatre Ensemble Scholarship, and the Jonathan Sweat Performance Scholarship.
There is a long, rich and storied history of the performing arts at Millsaps, and today’s programs are continuing to add to that history through a broad range of ensembles: Millsaps Singers, Chamber Singers, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, the Millsaps Players, and the Major Pep Band. Students can major or minor in music, earn a major in music with a minor in secondary education, or minor in theatre. A certificate in performance is also available.
It’s important to act quickly to be ready for Performing Arts Scholars Day! All material, including a Millsaps College application, must be completed before the audition/interview. For students unable to audition or interview on March 10, the music and theatre departments will be available to audition/interview by appointment until all scholarships have been awarded.
