Actuarial science, a field within insurance and finance, evaluates financial risks through mathematical and statistical methods.
Mathematics studies develop quantitative reasoning and problem solving skills. Major in mathematics or applied math to pursue careers in statistics, medicine, engineering, actuarial science, business, law and more.
Studying biochemistry prepares you for success in numerous occupations, including medicine, environmental fields, industry, teaching and law enforcement.
Biology is the study of the chemical and physical principles of all living things. Topics include cellular processes, immunology, genetics, physiology, ecology, biodiversity, zoology, botany and microbiology.
Business Analytics at Millsaps College focuses on practical application of theoretical knowledge, using real data and the latest tools and technologies. It also emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication, preparing graduates for roles like data analyst or business intelligence consultant.

Solving today’s environmental and social challenges requires not only know-how but innovation and creativity. Our environmental science program encourages hands-on learning and critical thinking to address environmental issues.
Geology studies focus on the Earth’s materials, internal and external Earth processes, analysis of Earth history and an appreciation of geology in regard to environmental and engineering issues.
In Millsaps’ Geophysics program, students are given the tools to make connections between the earth’s systems. We foster critical thinking and seek solutions to address geological, environmental challenges, and the sustainability of our natural resources.
Health and Exercise Science (HESC) is focused on the human body and how to maintain or improve health, fitness and athletic performance. Career paths include health care, athletics, community wellness or postgraduate work.

Combine a pre-engineering path with an applied math, chemistry, geophysics or biochemistry major. We partner with the Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University, the University of Mississippi and Columbia University.
Pre-health tracks include dentistry, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy and veterinary medicine. Millsaps has cooperative agreements for automatic acceptance with schools across the region.
Public Health majors at Millsaps are prepared to serve the community’s healthcare needs.
Design a major to best fit your personality, career goals and specific educational needs. Previous self-designed majors include international health and economics, global language studies and environmental studies.
The User Experience (UX) Design major is an interdisciplinary program focused on creating digital products, systems and services that provide a meaningful and enjoyable experience for users.
